Background

A partnership of business, education and the four Humber local authorities, the Humber LEP works to promote and develop the area surrounding the Humber Estuary and provide strategic economic leadership to create jobs and deliver growth. The Humber is experiencing an economic, social, cultural and infrastructural renaissance and the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership is at the forefront driving growth and prosperity.

A cornerstone of this growth is the opportunity presented by Offshore Wind turbines. Humber LIEP needed help in understanding how to generate awareness of the area and also accelerate lead generation.

Strategy

Inflowing worked with the LEP to undertake a thorough analysis of the global market for offshore wind. By developing personas (a picture of a typical customer), a specific content and inbound marketing strategy was developed and implemented encompassing awareness raising, lead generation and customer relationship management.

Inflowing brought a number of perspectives that have changed my thinking. The recommendations and conclusions will be very valuable and I am sure that we will build on these over the coming months.

Results

The outcomes were considerable. As a result of a more focused marketing approach, the Humber has been able to directly measure over £6bn in funding from the likes of Siemens and DONG energy. Marketing that matters.
