Check to see if your site is mobile-friendly

To reflect this, Google has recently started using their Mobile-First Algorithm, meaning that Google will now crawl and index your web page based on how it renders on a mobile phone versus a desktop computer.
To reflect this change in algorithm, Google has now provided a tool for you to ensure your site is mobile friendly. Just plug your site link into Google’s Mobile-Friendly Testing Tool and it will tell you whether your site is optimized for mobile devices, and therefore more likely to rank higher on the Google results page.
Speed up your site
Another ranking factor Google uses is the site’s loading speed, and the 2018 update has made speed even more important.
To increase the speed of your site you first need to clean up your site’s HTML code. Using PageSpeed Insights you can easily find problems with your code, but make sure you are testing all popular pages from your site rather than just your homepage. You can also run a speed test which will tell you what elements of the website are slowing things down – webpagetest.org is a great tool for this. Finally, make sure you are compressing your site images.
Check your organic traffic
Checking your organic traffic is essential as it is targeted. Users visiting your site from organic results have a specific intent, and you could be providing them with the solution or answer, so they will be more likely to convert.
